Festive Cocktails for Holiday Hedonism!

You will all be invited to our cocktail party this Christmas! Are hosting your own cocktail party this festive season? Or knocking a few drinks up for yourself? Then we have a fantastic selection for you! 

In this week’s blog we have developed a range of festive cocktails that you can make at home. From rich decadent cocktails that make delightful digestifs while you recline next to a roaring fire, or light aperitif style cocktails that will really get the party started.

Rhubarb and Custard Snowball 

You won’t want to throw this snowball; we have taken the classic 70s Snowball and combined it with rhubarb gin to give it those traditional sweet shop style flavours. This is a nice simple cocktail that is sure to get the party started!

• 25ml Boodles Rhubarb and Strawberry Gin 
• 50ml Advocaat
• Lemonade

In a highball glass filled with ice add the gin, advocaat and top with lemonade. Stir to combine.

Clementine and Cinnamon Bucks 75

Here we have combined two festive celebration cocktails, the French 75 and Bucks Fizz. For those that attended the most recent gin tasting with us will note that this is the cocktail we served on arrival. For extra Christmassy vibes we used clementine juice and cinnamon syrup.

• 25ml Hemmings London Dry Gin 
• 25ml Clementine Juice
• 12.5ml Cinnamon Syrup*
• Topped with Freixenet Prosecco

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice add gin, clementine juice and cinnamon syrup, shake to chill. Fine strain into flutes and top with Freixenet Prosecco.

*For the cinnamon syrup add 100g of sugar to 100ml water with a few cinnamon sticks and bring to the boil. Leave to cool and bottle. 

Tiramisu Cocktail

Not your classic Christmas cocktail but with flavours this delicious we could not possibly leave it out! This cocktail takes espresso martini and tiramisu and combines it to make a dessert cocktail. Perfect if you are after something lighter after a large Christmas meal. 

• Double Shot Espresso
• 25ml Sweet Potato Espresso Rum
• 25ml Sweet Potato Chocolate and Chilli Moonshine
• 12.5ml Sugar Syrup
• 1 Tsp Mascarpone 

Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice until well chilled. Fine strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish the top with grated chocolate.

Spiced Rum Milk Punch

A festive favourite in Louisiana. This creamy delight is full of festive charm, packed with spices and lucious vanilla, it will slip down a treat!

• 50ml Twin Finn Spiced Golden Rum
• 25ml Single Cream
• 25ml Milk
• 12.5ml Sugar Syrup
• ½ Tsp Vanilla Extract
• Nutmeg

Add all the ingredients, apart from the nutmeg, to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with grated nutmeg.

Fairytale of New York Sour

Is Fairytale of New York the best Christmas song? We shall let you decide that. But this fruity take on the classic Whisky Sour, also known as the New York Sour, utilises a red wine float. A great way of using any leftover red wine from your Christmas dinner.

• 50ml Basil Hayden's Bourbon
• 25ml Lemon Juice
• 12.5ml Sugar Syrup
• Dash of Angostura Bitters
• 12.5ml Red Wine

Shake all of the ingredients apart from the red wine with ice. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and float the red wine on top.
